Wild coho retention is now closed on the Alsea River! Fall Chinook is still open on the Alsea River. The bite continues to be fair though most fish have moved up and out of tidewater! There are likely fish still lower in the system but for best bets try higher this weekend for the opportunity to fight a Chinook! There are some bright fish coming into the system still even this late into the season,
November 1st hatchery steelhead opened on the Alsea River. Though its early in the season it isn't unheard of to catch an early winter steelhead this time of year. The early bite is starting to pick up for winter steelhead. The Alsea river does have a hatchery component to its winter steelhead run offering additional opportunities for harvest!
