Report: They bumped the release from Lewiston to 1,500 CFS this morning. The river fished very well yesterday above Grass Valley Creek. The tributaries were adding some color, but below others the river cleared up. It's a floating game for now, and as they get rid of the excess water in the reservoirs the river will be back in good shape. Stay tuned. Flows above 1,000 CFS from Lewiston can be fished, but be super careful - you won't be able to wade across tailouts as if it is only 300 CFS. For now, most fish can be found above Douglas City, though the big winter fish will be showing up any day now, so don't disregard fishing lower in the system. Fishing remains superb on nymphs and this is a good time to swing as well. These are super grabby summer run fish, you can get them on HDA Variants, Rubberlegs, Duracells, Olive Hotspots and Copper Johns. Look to put a few Golden Stone nymphs in your bag, Rolling Stones, Mercer's Poxyback Golden Stone, and the Solitude TB Golden Stone will fool these fish just fine.
