Surface water temps are in the low 50s. Multiple stockings of rainbow trout have occurred over the last two weeks, with most fish averaging 9 inches. Anglers are seeing plenty of trout action near the dam. Mid-morning through early afternoon is best for trout fishing, with reports of fish up to 5 lbs. Focus on the shallows where the trout will be cruising the warmer waters for insects. Balanced leeches, woolly buggers and midges are the go-to flies for fly anglers. Orange PowerBait or worms floated off the bottom are working for spin casters. Bass and catfish fishing will remain slow until warmer weather persists.
