The lake level rose to 87 percent of its storage capacity, marking the first sign that rising water levels had begun to slow. Anglers hoped the stabilization would help settle the bass bite. Finesse baits proved to be the best option, with drop-shot and shaky head presentations producing along bluff walls and secondary points. Baby bass, brown, and Margarita Mutilator II patterns performed best. Size 90 and 110 jerkbaits also produced fish near newly submerged brush. Crappie anglers found the best action in the Horse Creek Recreation Area, where small live minnows stole the show around submerged brush in 10 to 15 feet of water.
