The North Fork of The Stainslaus is due to be planted the week of 5/17/2026. The Stanislaus River can be very dangerous this time of year due to high and cold running water. Make sure to use extreme caution while fishing the river. Lure casters should try Panther Martin Spinners, Kastmasters, Rooster Tails, Mepps, Rapala's and Thomas Buoyant lures. Fly fishing should try bead woolly buggers, para adams, stone flies, ants, blue wing olive, ants, bead head nymphs, stimulators, and caddis. Bait casters should try salmon eggs, nightcrawlers, Berkley garlic scented mice tails, Berkley garlic eggs, and Sierra Slammers with a pautzke fire worm on a split shot rig.
