Website
The Fall River continues to fish well with cold, spring-fed flows. Trout are holding in deeper slots, undercut banks, weed edges, and slower inside seams, with the most consistent success being found fishing long leaders, light tippet, and drag-free presentations. Recent stockings near the hatchery have also added to the opportunity throughout the system.
PMDs continue to be the primary hatch, with the best surface activity developing through the afternoon. Blue Wing Olives and midges remain active during the cooler parts of the day, while occasional caddis are beginning to show during the evening.
Subsurface presentations continue to produce the most consistent action. Zebra Midges, Olive Perdigons, Two Bit Hookers, PMD and Pheasant Tail nymphs, small stonefly patterns, and balanced leeches have all been productive.
When fish aren't looking up, slowly stripping small olive or black streamers through deeper bends and structure continues to move larger trout.
