Fishing conditions: Fair to Good
Report: This is the slow season up on Hat and the best fishing will probably be late in the evening over the next month or so. Trico spinner falls in the morning, super early in the morning, will have fish sipping in the seams through the meadow section and in select locations below the 299 bridge. The Powerhouse 2 Riffle will be a smorgasbord with just about anything popping off, so be prepared for caddis, Yellow Sallies, Baetis and small PMDs. Dry-dropper rigs will allow you to pick up a fish or two on the dry, BP Weiss and the Weiss Firefly, Olive Hotspots, Sweet Peas, Zebra Midges and anything #18 or smaller is the name of the game for a dropper there. In addition to the Tricos, the PMDs, Baetis and Callibaetis that are coming off now are small so bring small Adams, #20 or 22s. Lower in the wild trout section you should always start with a Rubberlegs and don't count out a hopper pattern.
Hot Flies:
• Lance's Jigged X-May
• Rubberlegs
• Sweet Pea Jigged Baetis
• Pheasant Tails
• Mercer's Missing Link
• S&M Nymph
