As of Jan. 1, 2023, the catch-and-release section on Oak Creek has been expanded to include Oak Creek from the Highway 89A bridge at Slide Rock State Park upstream to the Sterling Springs Fish Hatchery property boundary including the West Fork Oak Creek. This section will be catch and release only for trout, artificial fly and lure only, barbless hooks only. Access to the canyon via State Route 89A upstream of Sedona is now open following significant containment of the Pocket Fire. However, evacuation status is still in “READY” status as crew are still monitoring the fire. Stream flow: 31.0-34.5 cfs; Water temperature: 66.7-71.2 F; Turbidity: 1.8-2.2 FNU as of 7/13/2026
