You"ll find the best fishing on the rocky east side of the reservoir using a variety of spinners. Jake Peters of Scofield did well with a black Mepps with a gold blade. Kathy Jo Martinez had good luck with a Jakes Spin-a-Lure. She said that tigers outnumbered cutthroats, and most ranged from 15-18 inches.

Mark Larsen of Fairview reports good fly fishing in the dam cove with woolly buggers and leeches. His fish ranged in size from 16-18 inches. Jim Levanger of Scofield Snack and Pack spoke with one angler this week who reported catching 30 trout in two days. This angler used Spin-a-Lures, Kastmasters and Blue Fox spinners. Jim says the Storm Thunder Stick has been a good fish catcher all summer and fall. Over his many years at the store, Jim said the best bait colors have been orange and chartreuse. He also indicated that Zeke's seemed to out-fish PowerBait, especially in spring and fall.
