There is a ring of ice in the shallows, and it extends roughly 100 feet out from the reeds in some places. Before the ice formed, anglers reported slow fishing for largemouth bass. Bluegill have also been difficult to find. Pelican Lake has an overabundance of carp, so you can help the fishery by catching them or taking them with archery equipment.
