The Upper Sacramento River is at prime levels now for wading. Flows are perfect for safe wading and accessing the tail outs for crossing the river to get to the best side of the river. I have seen golden stones daily in the afternoons on warmer days. size 16, Blue wing olives and grey may flies on colder days. Use beaded nymphs size 18 to 14. Size 18 black micro mayfly was best for me this week. Also size 18 red & black copper johns. s&m’s size 18, pt’s flash back size 18. Rains will bring great dry fly fishing mid day to dark. Fishing around Dunsmuir has been good. Best section is from Sims to Shasta Lake.www.jacktrout.com, (530) 926-4540. The Fly Shop (530) 222-3555
