Williard Bay Reservoir - Willard, Utah

Lake Information
Fish Species: | Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie, Common Carp, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Wiper, Walleye, Yellow Perch |
Willard Bay, a freshwater reservoir just west of Brigham City, is a warmwater fishery prized for its wipers, channel catfish, and crappie. Open year-round, it offers a wide range of angling opportunities with easy highway access.
Wipers are the top draw. These aggressive hybrid bass hit hard and fight even harder. Trolling crankbaits or casting swimbaits around drop-offs and bait schools is the key, particularly in spring and early summer.
Catfish provide reliable action in warmer months. Cut bait, shrimp, or stink bait fished on the bottom near the dikes or deeper coves work well. Crappie are found around submerged brush and are best in spring and fall using jigs or minnows on light tackle.
The lake also supports walleye, black bass, and perch in smaller numbers. Boating access is excellent, with launches at the state park marinas and other spots along the shoreline.
Because the bay can get choppy in wind, morning trips are often most productive and safest.
Willard Bay delivers consistent warmwater fishing with excellent facilities and high catch potential. It’s one of northern Utah’s top destinations for multi-species action.
