The reservoir is usually ice-free by late March. As the snow melts and the reservoir fills, you can expect the water to be murky or muddy. Rainbow trout begin cruising the shoreline looking for food and can provide great fishing for shore anglers. Standard bait fishing tactics can produce good results, while spin anglers should use marabou jigs, spinners, spoons and unscented plastics
