The Applegate River is currently closed to trout and steelhead fishing. Trout will reopen on May 22.
As of April 19, the fish counts to the trap at the base of Applegate Dam is 296 steelhead, with 100 showing up this week.
As of Wednesday morning, the Wilderville stream gauge was reading 384 cfs/2.54 ft., rising, and 47 degrees. Temperature is 46.1 F and 127 cfs coming out of the dam. You can check the USGS stream gauge flows on the Applegate to get the most up to date information.
