Anglers reported moving around to find biting striper, but overall, the bite has been good. Striper went for Flukes, small swimbaits, and jerkbaits early in the mornings and evenings. They also they ate cut baits, lugworms, and jumbo live minnows throughout the day. The best places to get bit have been after check gates. Largemouth went for dropshot Smokin’ Shad flukes, Green Pumpkin Senkos, and creature baits in slower moving water. There’s also a topwater bite before and after checkgates first thing in the morning. Catfish anglers soaked chicken liver, dip bait, and cut baits for some impressive catches. Many anglers have opted to fish at night to avoid the heat.
