Fishing has been great at Castaic

Castaic Lake - Castaic, CA (Los Angeles County)

Castaic held at 93 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures remained in the low eighties. Fishing has been great at Castaic with largemouth, smallmouth and striped bass all hitting the scales. Large and smallmouth took topwater poppers and walking baits at a good clip in the AM. Later in the day weightless Senkos, drop shot and C-rigs scored bites out deeper. Baitfish, green pumpkin, and Ox Blood all took fish. Striped bass continued their assault on the shad schools and anglers filled the boat with topwater lures, the bubble rig, and spoons. Be sure to take long casts which avoid scaring the feeding fish. Catfish anglers did well while Carolina rigging cut baits and chicken liver in deeper coves around the lake.
