Bass fishing is improving. Bass are starting to move into shallower water using a drop-shot rig with morning dawn or margarita mutilators in the tulles. We have seen several crappie being caught using small shiners. With the warmer weather and the longer days, the bass are starting to stage for spawning. Lake Murray is scheduled to receive a trout plant the week of the 26th, with this usually happening on Wednesdays.

Fishing has still been slow this past week but people are catching some quality fish. There is a low front going in however that could be what it takes to turn these fish on. Bass are primarily being caught on high visibility baits such as spider baits, under-spins and bladed jigs. The fishing at Murray has turned ON! Thanks to the most recent cold front that came in yesterday, the fish are out and about. Water temperature has finally dropped to a suitable temperature for the fish and they are ready to eat! The bass have recently jumped into a crawdad bite as the native crawfish have just had a hatch in the past week.
