The crappie bite has died down die to the shiner shortage in Southern California. However bluegill have been biting bit on night crawlers, meal worms and plastics. Drop shot with 6 pound test in shallow water is also working well. The size have been bigger than normal. The bass bite is also above average with the past spawn producing numerous anglers limiting out.

It has certainly been difficult to get out and do some fishing with the weather we have had this past week. For the few who were able to brave the conditions, the fishing has been surprising good. The anglers doing the best Bass fishing seem to be working in depths from 20 feet and shallower. Bass fishing is improving. Bass are starting to move into shallower water using a drop-shot rig with morning dawn or margarita mutilators in the tulles. We have seen several crappie being caught using small shiners. With the warmer weather and the longer days, the bass are starting to stage for spawning.
