Bass fishing and the weather both continue to heat up as we get into summer. We are in a post spawn and the larger fish are starting to appear. Drop shot roboworm with 8 lb. fluorocarbon has done well. Blue is at its peak now with high numbers and size. All live worms seems to be working at this point. Catfish has been ok as well with garlic shrimps and materiel being most productive.

Lower Otay ReservoirGreat fishing continues at Otay Lake with bass set in post spawn. The numbers are high but the size is on the smaller side. The hot ticket have been a margarita meal worm fished on a drop shot in shallow water. The bluegill bite has been about average as they stat to bed in the shallows. Lower Otay ReservoirThis week we’re starting to see the fish prepare their beds and males are getting aggressive. The water level rose from all fo the rain, yet we are seeing fish more out of the deep water and more so along the coast. Black and watermelon senkos fished weightless has been a favorite.
