Frances Short Pond suffered a fish kill due to low dissolved oxygen caused by monsoonal runoff through the Pipeline fire scar on 7/19/22 that flushed ash, sediment, and debris into the pond. The City is in the process of dredging Frances Short Pond out to remove debris and sediment. It is difficult to say when conditions will be appropriate to stock Frances Short again. The department is working with the City of Flagstaff and will assess the potential for stocking in the spring. The limit is 2 bass minimum size 13 inches, the limit is 4 channel catfish, the limit is 5 sunfish, the limit is 4 trout.
