The release from the dam is 250 cfs, and the temperature at release is 43F. Reservoir outflow will stabilize now around this number as the reservoir refills. The Applegate is currently open for trout and winter steelhead fishing. Only hatchery winter steelhead can be retained.
Winter steelhead fishing will take a little while to pick up on this river but with all the water a few fish have been caught and the best bets are the Hwy 199 bridge or Fish Hatchery Park.
