The weather has been all over the place lately wind, rain, snow and sun, welcome to spring in Northern California, with that said the fish are already wet and they still gotta eat, Shasta and Siskiyou Lakes both have some quality Brown an Rainbow Trout waiting to be harvested or released if you choose.

Trolling the surface down to 35 feet has been the best method for hooking up on the Browns and Rainbows. The Browns have generally been deep while the Rainbows have been near the surface. The last few trips, dodgers with flies tipped with a little worm and dipped in shrimp krill oil have been the most consistent set up, but as always the key has been changing out the gear throughout the day. Plugs and spoons have also worked well while trolling at speeds between 1 an 3.5 mph.

Checkout the pictures and lets put your next fishing adventure together. McCloud, Shasta, Siskiyou, and Whiskeytown (kokanee) are all options.
