Isabella fell slightly to 70 percent of capacity this week. It’s been two weeks since that last trout stocking by DFWL. The trout bite continues to be very good from shore and offshore. Those fishing from shore have been scoring trout with minijigs, spinners, Keitechs and floating baits. Boaters are connecting with Tasmanian Devils, Needlefish and Flicker Shad. The crappie bite slowed from the red hot category to a more seasonal reaction. Anglers have had to work a little harder to find schools of Crappie. Those fish around structure in 5 to 15-feet of water and have been coming on live shiners, small swimbaits, and Get Bent Baits in white, yellow, or chartreuse. Bass are in shallow and have been fooled with reaction baits in the early and later hours of the day. Catfish are coming on SSS Dip Bait, chicken liver and mackerel around Camp 9.
