Catfish Season: The lake will be stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish the week of July 29th. The last stocking was the week of July 8th. So far, 3,500 pounds of catfish have been stocked this season.

What’s the Catch?Don’t let the water level fool you into thinking that the fishing isn’t good! There are still plenty of fish to be caught. You just need to be thoughtful about where and how you fish. Bass, Crappie, sunfish, catfish were all pulled from the lake last weekend. Catfish and crappie were biting from the shoreline around the boat dock during nightfishing on Saturday. Fishermen were using cut mackerel to catch cats all weekend. Crappie were biting on wax and meal worms. The best way to ensure a catfish bite is by boat to access the drop offs and structure in the deeper coves. Catch and release bass were being reeled in from all over the lake. Jigs and plastics are the best way to catch a bass during the summer heat.

Conditions: The t-dock will remain closed until further notice. The current water temperature at the surface is around 80 degrees. The sun is rising at 5:58 a.m. and setting at 7:51 p.m.

Please be aware of exposed and submerged structure while boating and muddy shoreline around the lake. The district will begin to refill the lake next week! We expect the fill to take about a month.
