Pyramid Lake held near 92 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures remained in the 80 degree range. Anglers reported another fair week of fishing with many anglers opting to fish the excellent bite at Castaic Lake. The weed beds have grown thick along most shorelines, and savvy anglers worked the weeds for good results. Largemouth took weedless topwater lures until 9am, and then working holes and pockets with weedless offerings paid off. Bass also held out deeper on points with fish taking drop shot and Ned rigs in green pumpkin and Ox Blood. Striped bass ate cut baits and lugworms at Yellowbar and in the marina. Catfish anglers did well while using cut sardines and chicken liver.
