Here at River Walk the CDFW have a scheduled trout plant this week. Both lightening and rainbow trout are still showing from the Bakersfield Firefighters trout derby. Anglers have been scoring trout with Powerbait, mousetails, spinners and jigs. Bass have been coming on crankbaits, jerkbaits, jigs and shad imitation plastics on drop shot. Bluegill have been showing at both lakes with wax and red worms. The next trout derby here is scheduled for February 8, 2025, hosted by the Bakersfield Kids Outdoors and is open to all ages. The main and amphitheater lakes will be stocked with tagged fish up to $1000 with trophy lightening and rainbow trout. For tickets and more information visit Copes Tackle and Rod.
