The Crooked River’s afternoon midge hatch continues to be a highlight, with lots of rising fish to both the emergers and adults. Leading up to the hatch, we’re seeing good pre-hatch nymph action as well. Midges are the primary focus, but adding Perdigons, Scuds, and Fire Starters to your fly box will diversify your approach. Another solid option has been black leeches fished on a dead drift, which have been producing well. The water flow is steady and currently sitting just below 100 CFS so go get out there!
