Pyramid Lake remained near full capacity, with water temperatures rising into the mid to high 50s. Bass fishing proved to be the most productive option for anglers, as both smallmouth and largemouth bass became more active in the pleasant weather. Fishermen focused on the 5-to-20-foot depth range, using split shot rigs, Slim Pros, Senkos, drop shots, and jigs. Popular color choices included green pumpkin copper, Aaron’s Magic, and oxblood. Crankbaits and white or chartreuse chatterbaits were effective along windblown banks. Striped bass were best targeted by trolling A-rigs and deep-diving crankbaits, while catfish anglers found success using cut bait, dip bait, and chicken liver.
