Hyatt is currently 88 percent full and rising. Similar to Howard Prairie, large areas of the reservoir pool will be watered again for the first time in several years, which will provide a jump in reservoir productivity and food production. The main BLM boat ramp may be is open, thanks to the BLM for plowing snow to get this open.
Trout fishing should be very good. Anglers have already reported catches of some nice sized trout at Hyatt. The release last week added legal-sized trout to the holdover fish available for anglers. A wide variety of gear can be effective at Hyatt, including trolling flatfish or streamer flies on light line.
A treble hook with powerbait is an effective technique for catching trout but not for releasing trout. If you plan to only catch and release fish, please consider using single hooks.
Remember to remove all vegetation from gear, boots and boats before leaving Hyatt
