Riviera Marina Fishing Report

Colorado River - Davis Dam - Davis Dam, NV

The striper bite is back and stronger than ever along the shores of the Colorado River below Davis Dam. Local anglers, with Mike Merritt at the helm, landed a total of 12 stripers, including Russell Mink, Ethan Merritt, Regan Harbin, and Hazel Harbin. Mike knows a spot that’s producing well, but a boat is definitely recommended to access it. The anglers used anchovies to catch these fish, which seem to be the size most commonly running right now. The limit is 10 stripers per angler, with no size limit below the Davis Dam.

I've also heard that various lures are working for some nice stripers, so it’s worth trying those too. The shoreline at Rotary Park is another great fishing spot, and there have been reports of trout in the area. It seems the city must be stocking again, as the caddis flies are out in full force.

For bait, anchovies are still the top choice for anglers targeting both river and lake fish.

By the way, I’m in the process of painting the tackle shop a fresh blue with white trim, so be on the lookout for the new look! I’ll share a picture soon so you won’t miss it when you come in to show off your catch and share your story.

Thanks for all the support! Hope this helps, and remember: Go catch a fish!
