EAST WALKER RIVER

The East is flowing at about 132 cfs today and is still fishing very well. Nymphing is still the main success story but there is still some decent action with streamers. With the slightly higher flows there seems to be more fish moving into the upper mile, just below the dam but the fishing below the bridge is still the best. For streamers try dead drift crayfish, sculpzilla, dali lama, ziwi and for nymphs try perdigons, zebra midge, copper john, drag queen, silver streak, flashback pheasant tail, GR hare’s ear and darth baetis.

SCEIRINE RANCH

The ranch has also been fishing very well as of late, both nymphing and with streamers. The flows are great down there and most anglers are reporting good days with 20 to 15 fish to hand per day. There are a good number of reservations on the books in the coming weeks so if you have plans to fish the ranch try to give us a call ahead of time.

The trespass fees for the ranch have been updated as of April 24, 2025 to $100 for a half day per angler and $125 for a full day per angler. Anglers are still limited to 4 per day. Anglers who booked time on the ranch calendar prior to April 24, 2025 will still be charged at the old price of $75 per half day and $100 per full day.  100% of the trespass fees go directly to the ranch, cash is preferred. If you need to use a credit/debit card a 3% administration fee will be charged.

HUNEWILL POND

The pond had some pretty good fishing this week when it wasn’t too windy, there were a couple days that were very windy and that made it pretty tough on a few anglers. It sounded like they were still able to gather up a few fish but they had to earn them. Keep an eye on the weather and when it’s calm or there’s just a little chop on the water it should be great out there!

BRIDGEPORT RESERVOIR

The reservoir fished very well this week, again, when the wind wasn’t blowing too hard. We have had some pretty windy days lately which has kept some boats and anglers off the water. When boats were able to get out there the still fishing off of Rainbow Point was awesome with lots of good reports coming in from anglers fishing pinched crawlers, inflated crawlers, mice tails and power bait. The trolling has also still been pretty good with Thomas Bouyants, night crawlers and Rapalas. It sounds like the shore fishing has slowed down a bit but hopefully they’ll start getting into some fish down there before it’s all over.

KIRMAN LAKE

We haven’t heard anything back from Kirman so far for the first day of the season but we’ll let you know when we hear anything.

TWIN LAKES

The Twins are still producing some good fish with some pretty decent reports coming in from shore anglers as well as boat anglers. We’ve had some good reports from boat anglers who’ve been trolling needlefish, KC Lures, Thomas Bouyants and Rapalas and some good reports from shore anglers casting lures in the early part of the day and switching to bait like power bait, pinched crawlers and mice tails as the day wears on.

WEST WALKER RIVER

Haven’t heard much news from the West lately but I did travel along the river on Hwy 395 yesterday and it appeared to be very fishable, some of the rapid areas were a little high but the calmer stretches looked pretty good, the water clarity was good so I think you should be able to go up there and have some action, I’d be trying Panther Martins, Roostertails and Mepps  for lures, crawlers and power eggs for bait.

VIRGINIA LAKES

From what we’ve heard about the Virginias it’s time to wait it out until the ice clears the rest of the way, it sounds like it’s not safe to be out on the ice and it’s melting pretty fast. There may be some open water near the edges that you could pull some fish from but that’s it for right now. As of yesterday Trumbull Lake just had a couple large ice burgs floating around out in the middle so there’s like some good opportunity for some action up there.
