Open year-round. Access blocked by snow in most areas. Fishing above the marsh would normally be the best. Redband trout fishing is best below Pikes Crossing. Brook trout fishing is best above Rock Creek campground at the deep beaver pond areas. Look at google earth to pick out these areas.

Fishing has been very slow below the marsh but the redband trout population will recover after three years of good water.

Fishing below the Sycan Marsh is not recommended as most of the river has been dry most summers. The black drake mayfly hatch in June will be excellent. Flows are high.
