Crooked River - Prineville, OR

The river has bounced back nicely after months of high water, and fishing is excellent. The tail end of the Mother’s Day Caddis hatch is still bringing fish to the surface, though it’s beginning to taper off. Caddis in #14–16 in black, olive, and light tan remain good choices.

Nymphing is lights out right now. Rainbow Warriors, Zebra Midges, Perdigons, Scuds, and 2-Bit Hookers are all top producers. Dry fly anglers should keep small attractors handy for the afternoon and evening rise.
