Water temperatures are creeping into the 60s with the warm air temps. Mormon crickets have arrived at the reservoir and are falling into the water. Both trout and bass are hitting the crickets hard. Try mimicking the color and shape of the crickets with your bait or lure.
The trout bite has been good following spring stocking efforts. Bait anglers are having the best luck with trout hitting orange PowerBait, while fly anglers are having success with nymph, midge and leech patterns. Streamers are being hit hard off the dam. Below the dam, fly anglers are finding trout in the pools downstream of the spillway.
Bass fishing is picking up with the warmer weather. Fish are on beds in the shallows and are quick to hit topwater lures. Special regulations: March 1 – June 30 is catch and release only for black bass.
