The water level has been going down, but still has plenty of water to fish the shore or launch your boat at the marina. As a note, the Caples lake Marina does rent pontoons and small fishing boats. When out on the lake, use cation and look for the safety buoys. Right out in front of the lodge/marina is a very large rock structure you do not want to find the wrong way.. The lake was planted by CDFW a couple weeks ago and the fishing is still hot. Best areas have been by the dam and over by woods creek. Flashers and a half crawler or small Rapalas. Shore fishing in those areas have also produced good fish. For more info, call the Caples lake Resort at 209-258-8888
Good luck on your next fishing adventure. If you have a question. a report in our local fishing area or have a photo of your catch, send it to nevada@fishreports.com. Hope to see you on the waters. Good fishin' and tight lines.
