The cooling continues and you should be able to fish high in the water column for rainbows soon. Right now you can still get Spotted Bass to eat a shad pattern fished deeper, like at least ten feet on the drop. Float n' Flies are great for this, also darker Balanced Leeches will do the thing. Topwater plugs, poppers and sliders will work in the evenings. This fall and through the winter will be a great time to get out on the lake if you would like to catch as many fish as you can handle or want to sight cast streamers to cruising fish, give us a call we have the best fly guides on Shasta Lake!
Hot Flies:
• Wooly Buggers
• Float-n-Flies
• Dead Drop Minnow
• Zack's Stillwater Balanced Leech
