Open all year with bait allowed. Crappie fishing is slow as they are supsended in the reservoir. Fishing for 10-14 inch largemouth bass should be good. BLM, ODFW and BOR stocked a total of 431 crappie in April 2024 ranging in size from 8-14 inches. Please report any crappie and bass catch to ODFW at 541-281-9199. Water temperatures are getting cold which will slow down the bite.

There is no boat ramp and limited public access. A small pontoon boat or kayak is best. You need a boat you can push off the trailier and reload in shallow water. Best fishing is along the willows and vegetation line near the deeper water along the dam face. You can easily wade and fish most of the reservoir. The reservoir is mostly shallow therefore casting a long distance might be necessary to reach fish.

The reservoir was dry in summer of 2022. All fish perished. ODFW and BLM have stocked many size classes of largemouth bass and a few crappie in 2023. Catch-and-release is encouraged to allow for establishment of fish populations. There might also be a few redband trout around.
