The October Caddis hatch is on the wane in the upper section of the river and now would be the time to try your luck at some dry fly fishing. Trout will be keying on the spent Caddis on the edges, late evening will be your best chances to get a rainbow to chomp your Stimulator. Fish are on still on small black offerings in the mornings. The overall winner was a dark BP Weiss nymph. Midges, Blue Wing Olive nymphs, and the occasional Hydropsyche Caddis will be what these fish will key on. Black and Red #16-18 Zebra Midges, BP Weiss Nymphs, Rubberlegs (at times), #14 Fox Poopahs, small Dark Lords, Olive Hotspots, and Duracells can be high-sticked, Dry Dropper underneath a Chubby Chernobyl, or under an indicator. Euronymphing will work too. Soon fish will be susceptible to sculpins in the riffles, bring your streamer or trout Spey rod and some Slumpbusters.
