With the shutdown, the trout fishing is pretty much on hold, but anglers are having great luck landing stripers and some smallmouth bass up on Lake Mohave. Trolling has been working well using bucktail jigs and various swimbaits. Anchovies have also been successful at the mouths of several coves.

Near and around Princess Cove—and the nearby coves—are great spots. Trolling across Telephone Cove on the Nevada side and near Davis Dam, also on the Nevada side, has been producing good results.

Here below Davis Dam along the shores of the Colorado River, we’re seeing some striper action. With the low water releases, shore fishing is what’s working best. Various lures, swimbaits, and anchovies can all prove successful.

I had to include a picture of the marina from when we still had boats in here. Our water levels at this time of year mean no boating on the river, but we have great spots for shore fishing. Hope to see you with your catch before you head out to land a few more.
