Cave Lake is open water with thin ice around the perimeter that may prohibit shoreline fishing. There is good shoreline access from the day-use area of the Park. There was 8,039 rainbow trout, averaging 9 inches stocked this fall. Anglers should expect to catch hatchery stocked trout, however, there is a chance that you can catch a trout carried over from previous years. Anglers will catch trout on nightcrawlers, PowerBait, spinners (Mepps and Panther Martins), and a variety of wetflies behind a bubble.
