The Trinity will have increased flows up to 6,500 CFS release beginning on Christmas Eve, the flows will be back down to 1,500 CFS on January 2nd. For now, most fish can be found above Douglas City, though the big winter fish will be showing up any day now, so don't disregard fishing lower in the system. Fishing remains superb on nymphs and this is a good time to swing as well. These are super grabby summer run fish, you can get them on HDA Variants, Rubberlegs, Duracells, Olive Hotspots and Copper Johns. Look to put a few Golden Stone nymphs in your bag, Rolling Stones, Mercer's Poxyback Golden Stone, and the Solitude TB Golden Stone will fool these fish just fine. Steelhead Fishing Can be Frustrating
These anadromous rainbow trout are known as the 'Fish of a Thousand Casts.' For good reason! The learning curve can be quite steep learning when and where to go, and what type of water to target.
