Fishing is generally best when flows are below 3,000 cfs. Flows are currently at around 5,600 cfs at the gage in Waterloo, but these conditions are unlikely to persist with rain forecasted for later this week. Fishing for summer steelhead is open year-round although there are few adults left in the basin. At this time of year, the majority of these are in the upper sections above Waterloo, from below the deadline at Wiley Creek to Pleasant Valley boat ramp.
