DWR spring trout stocking efforts typically begin in mid-March for Riverfront Pond and continue into May. Riverfront can run into water quality issues late May or early June, which can prevent continued fish stocking. Trout catch rates are fair to good during these spring months. We recommend using a piece of nightcrawler fished below a bobber, or garlic-chartreuse trout dough bait fished off the bottom or behind a casting bubble. Lures (such as inline spinners, casting spoons and marabou jigs) and streamers (such as Pistol Pete flies, woolly buggers and leech patterns) can also be effective.
