My good friend Al and I fished Gull on the 7th and unexpectedly caught only three Rainbows. In recent years May fishing here has been excellent so that was a bit of a surprise.
The next day, we didn’t know what to expect on June and again, to our surprise, got 25, keeping 9. Much better day of fishing I’d say.
All 25 were grabbing Garlic Pinch Crawlers or Pink and White Mice Tails.
Upon checking the CDFW Trout Planting Schedule online after Opener, Gull was stocked last week, June not since the week before Opener.
Hopefully, this week prior to Memorial Day Weekend the state will hit June again to go along with bigger Rainbows from Oregon being put in by entities other than the state.
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Memorial weekend. And remember when you meet a vet, shake their hand and say thank you.
I hope to see you on the waters this weekend. If you get a photo of your catch, send it to editor@recordcourier.com.
Good luck on your next fishing adventure. If you have a question. a report in our local fishing area or have a photo of your catch, send it to nevada@fishreports.com. Hope to see you on the waters. Good fishin' and tight lines.
