Anglers reported the lake at full pool with decent water clarity and temperatures ranging from the mid-seventies to even higher depending on the time of day. Finesse techniques such as drop-shot rigs, Carolina rigs, and weightless 5-inch thin Senkos produced bass from depths of 10 to 20 feet, with numerous fish in the four-to-five-pound range being reported. Top-producing colors included shad variants, green, and light purple. The topwater bite continued to improve, as small Spooks, Lucky Craft Gunfish, and Espetites in shad patterns all attracted attention from both bass and striped bass. Striped bass also responded well to cut sardines fished in 25 to 50 feet of water near the buoy line and Elizabeth Canyon. Trolling umbrella rigs proved effective over main-lake points in the same depth range. Catfish remained as dependable as ever for shore anglers using dip bait, cut bait, and chicken liver.
