The Fall River continues to provide reliable fishing as its cold, spring-fed flows keep fish active despite the warmer summer weather.  Long leaders, light tippet, and drag-free drifts continue to separate productive days from average ones, particularly on the river's larger, more selective fish.

PMDs continue to anchor the afternoon hatch, with Blue Wing Olives and midges keeping fish looking toward the surface during the cooler parts of the day. Evening caddis activity has become more consistent, and anglers staying into the final hours of daylight are finding some of the best dry fly opportunities of the day.

Subsurface tactics continue to produce the most consistent action. Smaller mayfly nymphs, Zebra Midges, Olive Perdigons, Two Bit Hookers, and tan caddis pupa are all producing fish. When trout become less responsive to nymphs, slowly working a compact olive or black streamer along cut banks and weed lines has been an effective way to draw strikes.
