A single bluefin was landed aboard the American Angler May 21, reported owner-operator Sam Patella, after he heard from partner Brian Kiyohara, who was driving the rig on a day and a half trip. Shawn Trowbridge reported talking with Brian on 976-TUNA and thought the fish might be around 25 pounds. It was caught near a kelp paddy, and other tuna were seen boiling nearby.

Mike Lackey's Vagabond returned May 23 after a five-day trip with limits of yellowtail.
