DWR biologists began spawning cutthroat trout on May 7. The Swan Creek cutthroat trout trap collects adult cutthroat trout. The biologists take their eggs for stocking back into Bear Lake and use some of the adults to replace the captive brood fish that produce eggs for Strawberry Reservoir and other Utah waterbodies. Some cutthroat trout are allowed to continue upstream, where they spawn naturally.
