Anglers report good fishing in the Uinta lakes. For a unique fishing experience, try fishing for golden trout at Echo Lake in Murdock Basin. You'll need a four-wheel-drive vehicle to get to Echo Lake, and you should be prepared for a rough, bumpy and slow ride. Try fishing with a #14 elk hair caddis. Remember, there is a four-fish limit for trout, but in the Uintas, anglers can keep an additional four brook trout. You'll find both brook and golden trout in Echo Lake. Anglers are encouraged to take full limits of brook trout.
