Fishing has been described as fair to poor this past week. Those who are catching fish are finding success in 15 to 60 feet of water and at or near the bottom. The most productive times of day are still the early morning and late evening hours. Windy conditions have made the water murky and fishing with artificial baits very difficult.
Trout fishing at Willow Beach has been poor as well though some anglers are finding success with spinners. Anglers can see trout in the water, but the fish haven't been taking their bait. Striper fishing has shown some improvement over recent weeks. Anchovies and sardines have been catching the fish. Anglers fishing from boats reeled in several fish between 22 and 36 inches long and weighing as much as 15 pounds.
